Retopo lines / transparency

Hi,

Been studying retopo lately but one thing is bugging me hugely. The transparency of the object while retopo´ing. It´s very hard to draw the lines when the opposite sides lines are showing through the object. I know that you can adjust the Preferences>Draw>Front/Back Opacity but that really doesn´t work. If you tweak the “back lines” not to show, then the “front lines” disappear partially into the object. Not very nice…
In ZBrush 3.5 there was not this same problem. Why it got worse with 4.0?

Is it possible to retopo one side of the model first and then copy and mirror it to the other side, or something that would erase this problem?..

Thanks!

Hey dude!
i had the same problem…
here is the solution!

UNFORTUNATELY, this is the only way to do this…
u need to play with front/back to see the front lines, and the backlines.
i never did retopo in ZB 3.5, only in 4.0… but this work very well to me

Thanks, but that “solution” I know already. But as I said in my first post, it´s not very good solution. Sure it works on a Sphere-object, but try it with a very crumpy object.

I hope this gets fixed with an update.

I retopo on ZB 3.5 because of this.
