retopo for a optimal displacement??

Hy everyone!

It’s just a little question:

Displacement maps work better when the mesh it’s retopologized??

I made a base mesh in c4d, and after tweaking, I delete the first subdivision level and made the uv map with UvMaster. Then I made my displacement map.
The displacement works nice in c4d, but its less perfect and a little bit strange than my high-ploy mesh in zbrush.

Maybe if I retopo my mesh before making the displacement map, it will fit better on top of the new retopologized mesh!! IT’S THIS TRUE??

Thanx a lot in advance and Cheers from Barcelona!!! (sorry for my english!)

Juan.

yes.
