Retopo and editing later

Hi guys.
How would you guys go about building a new mesh with the retopo tool
and adding the inner mouth in an external package.
How can i reproject my details ?

These should get you going.

Sorry I just realized that you weren’t asking for the basics. I don’t believe you can build something out of nothing using the retopo tools, they need something solid to draw on.

Inner mouth isn’t too difficult, just take the inner verts from the lips, unweld, and extrude new geometry inward until you have a sac. It’s called a “mouth bag.”

Reprojecting shouldn’t be too problematic as long as import it back in with the mouth closed, even though it now has a mouth bag. Just keep the lips in the same position. There may be some ugly spots, but that’s why you store a morph target before you project your details.

I usually like to make polygroups out of the upper lip/mouth and lower lip/mouth so I can get in those tight areas when I need to.

Thanks for the help.
Ill try reprojecting later on with the new mesh
