(Resolved) Turning on SYMMETRY by default was A BAD IDEA!!!

Okay, I just wasted almost an entire day working on something and forgetting to turn off symmetry. I think this was truely a bad idea. Seriously, I think there are many of us out there who are used to not having it on. And there are also many, MANY instances when we have to clear the ZBrush canvas and restart the program.

I know this was meant to help us in some ways, but this is just too much help for us and not allowing us room to think for ourselves. There are just some things better left to us to turn on ourselves. Sorry for ranting off, but I just wasted an entire day trying to fix something and turns out i made it worse than before and have to start over again. All because the damn symmetry was left on!

Dammit! There does not seem to be anyway to turn this OFF upon startup!! Not even with a saved StartupDocument. Is there anyway to turn this off by default please? And yes, I did try store config. No dice.

I’m not sure Im understanding the problem. It varies with the tool. It is not on by default with something you import. It is only on by default with a tool if you save that tool with it on.

It is on with the default polysphere that 3.5 starts up with, but won’t automatically be on with something you import.

Yeah I think I got confused with something. Apparantly I had a subtool which was mirrored clone of my main model. And that subtool was saved with symmetry turned on. When I was done “fixing” the main tool I was working on, I still had the secondary subtool selected, so I saw the symmetry brushes and freaked out. Ah well, live and flipping learn.
