Resize =ALT+Click, release ALT,drag..anyway to change this?

Hey ,I’m lovin Zbrush2 except for one slight problem thats realy irks me.Resize is very difficult to get used to in EDIT mode.I searched through this forums archives to no avail.

I was able to program my 5 button mouse to take alt on the right thumb which matches it with the maya interface, and lets me pan.

Is there any way to assign the resize key combo to a button on the keyboard that I could map to the left thumb button?

If there isn’t a solution for this,I’m not sure what to do. I guess i could find a piece of software that records keyboard and mouse actions, but I’d realy like to see if I could change it whithin the program itself.

Not sure why Pixologic wont let you pick your own mouse actions…

Anyway thanks in advance if someone could help me out

I guess nobody has a script to change this :frowning:

Off hand, I’m not sure if a script even can. But you’ve also only given people 2 hours to respond.

Once you’ve learned the alt-key combo, it’s very convenient. The QWERT keys change your draw and transform modes. The S key changes your brush size. Ctrl handles masking. Ctrl+Shift handle visibility. Alt is used to reverse many things (such as Zadd becomes Zsub and masking becomes unmasking). It’s also used to move your object AND to scale it.

The more practiced you become with this, the faster it is and the more ergonomic it actually will prove to be for you.

In addition, you have the move and scale icons on the right shelf in case you find that the keyboard shortcuts are just too much for you at the moment.

Hey thanks for the reply…

I am used to almost all of the interface because its setup exactly like Maya. Move, rotate and scale = no problems cause I can bind alt to a mouse button. unfortunatley this zoom in and out thing is causing me to lose alot of time because I’m so use to how Maya is setup.

Also theres no way to frame on a selection you can only frame the object itself by pressing the “.” button…if there was some way to at least frame sections of the models so I could move in and out quickly,I guess it wouldnt be to bad,but there isn’t.=/

any other suggestions, guess the only thing to do is find some kind of mouse macro software to play nice with Zbrush.

Clicking the Set Pivot point button will center the currently visible polygons on the canvas, as well as set the pivot point to being the center of the selection.

And enabling Local Transformations allows you to frame a selected area by zooming. The last edited point becomes the zoom focus.

Thanks tveyes thats working much better for me now.

The only difficulty is when the object fill entierely the Canvas
So just make the Alt clic out side around the canvas!
