Resetting/removing painted materials?

Hi everyone,

Working on a model and accidentally painted different materials on it.
When I change the “Current Material” only portions of the image are affected. By painting using MRGB or just M, did I bake the material into areas I painted?
It doesn’t seem to affect the texture, but it would be nice to have a uniform material across my model.

Is there a way to get rid of the materials I painted?

I’ve already painted over my mistake with a single material, but it’s not giving me exactly what I want which is to change materials on the fly.

Thanks for looking this over, I welcome your feedback.

If you paint with M or MRGB pressed, in polypaint mode (polypiant>Colorize is pressed), you will paint that material on to the polygons. THis will only be visible when colorize is pressed, otherwise the mesh will preview whatever the active material is. You can fill an object completely with a color and texture by pressing Color > Fill Object, while MRGB is pressed, and “Colorize” is on, to “reset” an object.

Thanks for the response Spyndel,

I think I overlooked the colorize button. Once I disabled it, the object displayed the current material without having to fill the object every time.

Sorry for the multiple, redundant posts. I think my browser was acting up.
