Reproject HP to new MAX imported LP?

Hi
I can´t get it.
I sculpted an object in Zbrush till I got all the fine high detail I needed.
I exported the lowes subdiv to MAX and did the retopo in MAX (because the display of the new retopo in Z4 is to confusing).
After retopo I have a new LP object to import back in Zbrush.

But what next? How to get the fine detail onto the new object?
I subdivided the new LP Object, appended it to the sculpted object as its subtool and used the ZprojectBrush. But I guess this is not the correct way, because the result was not suitable.

Thanks in advance
BR
Hilmar

PS: This problem is evident for example by creating cloth.
Masking areas- extract those- sculp… works fine for Zbrush. But now I need to create a lowpoly Version, because most of the times the extracted mesh is very dens. Best solution would be to use GOZ to MAX and back, but after changing the extracted mesh in MAX, GOZ tends to crash :o( so the only way is to use a complete new object, bring it into Zbrush and … ???

some of the info in this thread might help (at least for the projecting):

Thanks a lot for your very helpful description !!!

The last step works also for my way from Max to Zbrush
I did a test with a subdivided sculpted plane. I deleted all the lower subdivisions in Zbrush so that only two levels were left and exported the lower one to MAX.
In MAX, used a new Plane in the same size with only 10x10 polys (the original has at its highest subd-level 260.000).
Exported this back to Zbrush and did what you suggest, except using the same subd-levels. It doesn´t matter. Just use nearly the same dens than the original to priject all the detail and it works

Thanks again for your help!
