Hi everyone, I’ve been having some issues trying to import an .obj as my rigged topology while preserving the high res details of my sculpt.
I’ve brought my working topology from zbrush to maya as an .obj, so I can add geometry like hands and the inside of the mouth.
When I bring my edited .obj from maya back into zbrush I am able to select it as topology, and it lines up with the sculpt, but when I make an adaptive skin my projection doesn’t work.
Here’s my workflow…
- sculpt
- retop
- set adaptive skin preview to level 1, export as obj.
- import .obj to maya for editing
- export .obj from maya
- reload my original sculpt
- rig to a zphere
- select imported .obj as topology
- make adaptive skin.
Even though projection is turned on, when I make my adaptive skin I see no details from my sculpt.
I’ve tried sticking with my original rig and deleting the topology, then selecting the imported .obj as topology. But the new topology is very small and not lined up with the original sclupt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
