Renderman and Z a question

Can someone post the details of the appearance they use in Renderman to create the displacements. I am thrilled by how fast Renderman deals with displacements but I cannot seem to get the very fine details out of the hair and such on the test maps.
Here are the settings I am using for my combine displacement shader

Thanks!

You will have to convert your ( 16bitBW .tif ) maps to float RGB then subtract .5 from them. Next convert the RGB float .tif into a float .tex. Make sure you apply the right flags during the txmake command. I cant remember exactly what they
are now because at our shop we have wraped all this up into command line
shake scripts and perl scripts. In the shader use the red, green, blue or luminance for your displacement. Be sure to set a proper displacement bound as well.

Anyway dont worry about renderman and displacements. Its the best out there
by far. Its capable of rendering any and all sorts of detail into displacements.

have you heard anything about the renderman Maya union, I read a while back that Maya will have Renderman Native like, well like Mental Ray is kinda, hopefully it will be better integrated. That would be awesome to have Renderman in Maya, I was using the Rat Tools for Maya a while back but have to give them up and didnt keep up with thier develpment, if there was any.

Anyways just wondering if you know anything about that, Thanks-
