rendering zbrush displacement maps? 32bit in XSI?

when i work in mudbox, my 32 bit disp maps from mudbox work perfectly when i’m displacing my object in xsi. ive never found a good tutorial for rendering zbrush 32 bit displacement maps. can anyone point me in the right direction? i have so many models that need to be rendered but the disp map is holding me back because i dont know how to get them to render and look just like they did in zbrush. in mudbox this isnt ever a problem, only with zbrush maps.

What are the steps that you’re following to create the map? What settings are you using? What are the results when you render?

well aurick, i’m really just looking for a step-by-step tutorial to do it properly. i normally follow instructions online for getting the 32 bit disp map, but rendering it in xsi to make it look jus tlike what i had in zbrush never works.so i was just looking for instructions for the lot of it.

You have to use the special quick code of DE-LBEK-EAEAEA-R32. But note that, the depth will be set to A, D factor, and you have to set it to Auto, to get all detail rendered in XSI.

What details you need? Setting the things in ZBrush, or in XSI, or both?

hey jester, i know i have a gnomon thing on here somewhere about rendering 32 bit from zbrush in maya, so i think i got the zbrush end of it ok, just have to follow that video.

i guess just the walk through on doing it in xsi is really where i get hung up. no matter how many times i ever tried the disp from zbrush it never looked close to as good as it did in mudbox, its why i wanna get a step by step so i know how to get great results.

Try this one. It worked for me:
