Render settings

Hi there,

Just working on my new and imrpoved showreel, and wantd t post up some renders of my work pretty soon.
But rather than export the obj and test render in 3dsmax using vray (which is a longer process) can anyone help me render in zbrush.

I’ve seen some excellent renders within zbrush, which is much quicker to see how the model is going, can anyone help me with settings to achieve a similar effect as below.

Thanks in advance, I look forward to posting my work and having it critiqued by all the kool people here!!

I think the best thing you can do is to play around with the settings yourself to see what does what to try and get the results you want. It’s really not that hard…that’s what I did to learn it, and although I still have a long way to go I do now have a decent understanding of it.

Play with the lights and material settings.

First off, make sure you enlarge your default document size. Once you render (in best mode) select antiAliased half sized before you export… Look into the SOK skin shader (available on this site) and accompanying light set. I used just his lights on some renders and found them awesome. It has a kind of GI appearance… also make sure you turn on shadows.
Using a cavity shader in your material slot helps a lot as well.

Maybe if you message Alex he will tell you what his specific settings were.

Thx a lot for your help guys, I did mess around with the settings for a while, but my renders just turned out grainy, but now I can try your ideas.

thx again
