I hit render and then what? Whole interface was still reacting a little bit but couldn’t click on anything. So how does one exit out of the render thing, how does one save a render. It’s a bit confusing…

You see a progress bar in the top with the render info. Once progress is complete when you interact with the screen or the model the buffer of the render is lost. If not it is because Zbrush has crashed but it is rare to crash in the render.
About saving you need to go to top menu, document-export. If you choose JPG it comes with several cropping options that are not available in other formats.
