Hello everybody. This is my first post.
I’ve been working with Maya since 2003 but i’m fairly new to zBrush. I love it! And I love it even more now with GoZ.
First. When I import the models to Maya with Normal Maps and Displacement Maps and render them… The result is never as good as it looks in zBrush.
Why is this? I render using MentalRay. I loose quality in the bump and displacement. It never looks as sharp as zBrush. I allways end up exporting my models with full resolution ( around 2 million polys) to Maya and render the highres version. This is really heavy for maya ofcourse. Even for my 8-Core Mac Pro with 16GB Ram and RAID setup. I want my renders to look as good as they look in zBrush. What am I doing wrong? Is it that my Maps aren’t good enough or is it the setting on the mental ray render that it’s cousing this?
I also wonder how to change the resolution of the MAPS they are allways 2k where do I increase this.
These renders were made from the highres version. I’ll upload new renders from the lowres version with normal and displacement maps.
