Render higher than 8K?

I need to render at 36x36" @ 300dpi, this equals about 10,000 pixels, ZBrush renders out at 72dpi meaning the render would have to be 33,000 pixels and then be converted to 300dpi in Photoshop. The max document size ZBrush will do is 8192x8192 which is a quarter the size I need, is there no way to make it render higher or at least higher dpi??

Thanks

Actually, for that size the maximum document size in ZBrush is ample. 8192x8192 will give you a 36 inches square image at 227ppi. If you really need the extra ppi then you can resample but 300 ppi for an image that size is overkill as the viewer will not be viewing the image close enough to appreciate the extra detail.

Thanks for the reply

Can you explain why it would be 227ppi if ZBrush outputs only 72dpi/ppi?

The render will be used for decals on motorbikes so it will be viewed quite close I guess. I’ve not needed to print a ZBrush render before this is why I’m querying it.

8192 pixels divided by 36 inches is 227 pixels per inch.

I’ve never seen a motorcycle with that large an area to paint on. Maybe you can make multiple images?
Also you have many export options as you’re well aware.

Right ok think I’ve got it now, so DPI is the same as PPI?

Whats the minimal PPI you could get a high quality image out of?
