Render AO from 2.5 Canvas

Does anyone know how to get an AO render from the Canvas?

There’s a tutorial on youtube I followed using a light rig setup, followed the settings as much as i could see in the video but the render looks nothing like an AO render, just looks like the viewport with a little bit more cast shadows.

Basically I just displace to a plane and rendered in Xnormal to get my AO since I couldn’t find a way to this in Z, although its not totally accurate.
