Render a still image

Hi guys,

just needed to know how to get a single still image rendered from zbrush so I can get a high quality jpeg from the model. Does everyone just use the screen-shot method?

You save an image by using Document>Export. For some materials and lighting effects you may need to do a Best Render from the Render palette but much of the time that is not necessary. Pressing the AAHalf button to the right of the UI will reduce the size of your image by half and apply anti-aliasing.

Thank you marcus_civis. Sorry for not responding earlier, I did not have access to the internet until recently when i came across your reply. I managed to do what you said, and it worked out.

How do you export to a higher dpi resolution instead of 72 dpi?

you can’t.
using the search pulls up why and some other useful info, i just read the first 20 threads and am glad i did so.

You simply need to calculate the pixel dimensions needed and create a document of that size. For example, for Letter size (8.5 inches x 11 inches) at 300 dpi you would create a document of 2550 x 3300.

A PSD exported from ZBrush doesn’t include dpi info so you would then adjust the dpi in Photoshop but without resampling the image.
