Removing a texture from the palette

Hello,

What is the Remove button in the texture palette for? Removing a texture I guess? But how does it work, because clicking on it doesn’t seam to remove the texture at all? It only sets the models current texture to “no_texture”. The image file remains in the palette.

All that R button does is restore the Texture palette itself (what you see when you click on Texture in the menu bar) to how it looked at launch. Any textures that you’ve worked with, though, will remain in the pop-up until such time as you restart ZBrush. Or you could use Preferences>Init ZBrush, which will reset the whole program to its launch state.

That’s the ‘R’ button. But I meant the ‘Remove Texture’ button, next to the ‘Make Alpha’. The button description says:

“removes this texture from the texture palette”

That removes it from the palette, not from the pop-up window. The two are closely related, but not identical.

R removes all textures that aren’t shown at startup. Remove is more surgical, and removes just the selected one. But neither will affect the pop-up window.
