ReMesh All Resolution Problem

Hi,… i’m an architecture student and trying to use zbrush for my project!

i’ve importet some OBJ’s form Maya into Zbrush, now i want to Remesh them in order to be able to sculpt it.

now the files are quit large but have a lot of details (like openings ond so on…)
if i try to ReMesh i need a lot of Resolution! Higher then 1024!!
i don’t really understand what 1024 means and how this ReMesh Resolution works. I’ve found out that it somehow relates to the Scale of the imported Mesh, but do not know how it effects it (sometimes a bigger Scale gives more detail, sometimes smaller… )

Does enybody understand the principle of the Resolution?
Or how i can get more then 1024…?

thx

Hi there,

With Remesh All you tend to never quite get the same shape even with high resolutions.

If you do a Project All afterwards however you should be able to transfer the details from your imported model to the new ReMesh.

You can probably get away with quite a modest resolution setting and then just subdivide and project.

All though without seeing your model I can’t say for sure.

Hope that helps,

James
