Reducing mesh count in Zbrush [Answered]

Hello everyone just signed up for this forum. Anyways I have learned how go from Rhino to ZBrush and work on stuff. MY problem with this newer version of zbrush. The polygon (face) count of the mesh (obj). In rhino I cannot turn the imported mesh to NURB (polysurface) if the mesh has more than 20000 faces. In zbrush we know that it works with hundreds of thousands of faces. Now there IS a command in rhino that reduces the face count but that totally throws off the quality of the object making it “blocky”. Can anyone help me figure out the best way to reduce the face count in zbrush so I could then make it a polysurface in rhino?

I’ve no idea how it will work with what you are doing but take a look at the Decimation Master plugin (you’ll find the help PDF in your ZBrush installation Documentation folder). It provides an excellent way of reducing the polycount of a model without losing detail.

Thanks! ill definitely look into that
