Hey everyone, this is my take on Red Sonja, a character I’ve loved for a long time. I only recently got into the comic books and was treated to a wonderful version of her by Gail Simone and Walter Geovani. It inspired me to do my own portrayal of her. I LOVE the traditional design of Sonja (i.e the silver mail bikini and naught much else). it’s instantly recognizable and very iconic. However, i didn’t think it would translate well to CG so i decided to elaborate on it a bit - something i’ve seen done well several times in the comics. Hopefully she’s still instantly recognisable. The red har and mail bikini are very strong design elements when used together.

GREAT job!
Longtime Red Sonja fan. Encountered her first reading Robert E. Howard’s Conan stories in the 60s.
Many talented folks have depicted her over the years.

very nice model! the render can be improved a bit but anyway good model!

Thank you very much indeed willbrown - I actually just read some of the original Conan stories. I really enjoyed them!

Thanks Uber - anything specific about the render you noticed? I’m not averse to going back and improving (i used vray btw)

This is really cool, I like the pose very much! Her design is good aswell!

Quick question, did you pose in Zbrush or in different program?

Thansk Takai, she was posed in Zbrush. I’m sure it could have been done in maya but there were some subtelties i wanted to include in the sculpt after she was posed

Very nice model and mesh.
You have to work on render result. It could be much better.
But really nice!

I like it a lot… :+1:

The only thing that bugs me slightly are the “threads” on her left shoulder/arm.
I’d prefer maybe a strap for the spaulder, and perhaps inflate the strings around her bicep just a tad.
