Recording Video tutorial in Zbrush (with audio)

Hi, we are using Zbrush at work, and it has come to our attention that it would be good for me to create some video tutorials of what i know in order to help out current and future employees.

What would be the best software and setup for the job. I would need to be able to navigate through Zbrush which might include some pretty high poly models on screen. I would also be alt-tabbing to other programs at times.

If any of you have experience with this please let me know what you did. I’m looking to create something much like the video tutorial for Zmapper, with the syncedup audio.

So far the programs i know of are:
Hyper Cam
SnagIt
Camtasia
Fraps

But i do not know what is best for this job.
Thank you.

I have tried all the ones you listed, I like camstudio + windows media encoder 9

from the tests that I have done, it was the best possible frame rate playback and didn’t seem to lag my work when I used it, plus I can do full screen and record audio from a microphone or lay in it later and windows media encoder 9 gets it down to a very small file size with very minimum quality loss [here](http://www.ericblondin.com/zbrush/forum/screen_encoded.wmv) is a quick example using camstudio with a 2 million poly plus object in zbrush with a screen rez of 1920 x 1440 out of cam studio it was over 100MB and I got it down to under 4MB with WME 9. of course if your screen rez was set smaller it would be much less, plus I also used the best compression setting, so you could get the file size even smaller if you used a lower setting

just realized that if you don’t have that high of a screen rez then that video wont look very good for you, so here is one at 1280x1024 you can see that it is basically real-time playback and the compression is good enough that you can read the text. yet the file size is still relatively small
