Recommended order that tutorial videos should be taken?

I am a new user of ZBrush. The tutorial videos look very useful, but after the introduction group they do not appear to be in order of skills development. Is there a thread already created that answers this? what is the best order to view the tutorial videos to get up and running in ZBrush?

Thanks,

Well most in the next bunch of tutorials are from many different users about all the many functions of sculpting with ZB.

I would suggest you pay attention to tutorials first that are going to hep with forming a base for your model and go to the more advanced parts of ZB. I would start with the tutorials that are about the many ways you can build a model, topology, texturing/PolyPaint/UVs, Noise, FiberMesh, MicroMesh, and full blown tutorials sort of in that order.

This is just my suggestion and what I have mostly done:

  1. ShadowBox lessons
  2. 3DBrushes lessons
  3. TransPose Lessons
  4. DynaMesh lessons
  5. Aditional Videos lessons
  6. Sculpting with Michael Pavlovich lessons
  7. Pannel Loops lessons
  8. Insert Mesh lessons
  9. Projection Master lessons
  10. Topology-ReMesher lessons
  11. Environments with Tate Mosesian lessons
  12. Noise Maker lessons
  13. FiberMesh lessons
  14. MicorMesh lessons
Then I would go to the big lessons that touch base with all the cool stuff and give even more insight to the many cool features of ZB.
  15. Vehicle Design lessons
  16. Environments with Seth Thompson lessons
  17. Military Assets with Joseph Drust

The reason is that I would do these to keep it structured as best as I could with what you will need to start, embellish, and complete a model. I would save the big ones for last just because you will understand them better if you already have some knowledge of the functions they will be discussing although each explain the functions in detail in their own words.

In the end it is up to you.

I hope this helps and welcome to ZBrushing and ZBrushCentral hope you have lots of fun and hope to see your work one day. Take care.<object type=“cosymantecnisbfw” cotype=“cs” id=“SILOBFWOBJECTID” style=“width: 0px; height: 0px; display: block;”></object>

Seavannah,
Thank you for your feedback on this. This is exactly what I was looking for.

For additional classes, I was thinking of taking the online course at Lynda.com. It looks like a through review of the interface and tools.

I suggest also taking tutorials from Ryan Kingslien at http://www.zbrushworkshops.com for a more thorough understanding, since he helped develop the zbrush program.

Thank you for the recommendation. I see that Paul Gaboury is teaching Ryan Kingslien’s, ZBrush for Production course. This looks like a very complete look at ZBrush. I am considering taking this.

Has anybody taken this course from Paul? Any feedback you’d like to share?
