Really Confused - Need Help Please

In the end I just want this model to be rendered in Blender, but there is so many things to do just to get there that it is overwhelming me.

The eyes were created in another application and they have a uv map and a texture.

What s the first step for doing all of this? I will use the "Multi-Map exported but it’s the steps before that that are confusing me.

  1. Using UV master can I create separate maps for the head and hair? and do I need to re unwrap the eyes again or can I somehow incorporate the eyes into the UV Master maps?

Take a look at this video by Jason Welsh aka cannedmushrooms, it might be helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQpi23Y6GAk&list=PL621AE72489A4A7C0&index=10

There are many other videos done by Jason as well which can provide help with other aspects of ZBrush.

If you haven’t already, you should also check out the ZClassroom videos about UV Master on the Pixologic site.

Thanks DLangley. I watched the video two times and am still trying to digest everything. I hope I can get this to work.

1. So for the eyes which I imported and have a texture for already, I don’t need to re unwrap those correct?

2. One thing I can’t figure out is if I have 3 SubTools can I just unwrap two of them? So for example can I leave the eyes (which are already textured) and unwrap the other two subtools?

3. The video didn’t seem to explain this. If I am using “UV Master” and I need to unwrap 2 subtools (The head and hair) do I unwrap them separately or at the same time? Can you explain.

I don’t know if anything changed in UV Master for ZB4R2 but in ZB4 each subtool was handled by UV Master separately. You can read through the documentation by going to your ZBrush Directory and opening the Documentation folder. You will find info on the plugins there too.

There are other videos you can look at if you do a search in YouTube as well as the ZClassroom videos on UV Master.
