Hi. I made the attached MatCap from a photo (of someone’s rearend, so I can’t post the source pic). The matcap has actual shading from skin. I really think it looks good, but I haven’t tried polypainting over it yet. If you do add color, such as lips, makeup, whatever, you can adjust the intensity slider in the material modifiers and it should adjust to your painting.

Hope you enjoy! I will experiment with it some more and see if I can’t come up with a few more versions, such as wet, feminine, child, etc. Let me know if there is an interest and I will work on it.

Just in case you are wondering, I chose the rump picture because it was a closeup and was fairly round (very gifted person), which is easier for matcaps (such as a globe or ball shape) and the colors were clear and unshadowed.

The top row of heads were done by other artists, but the bottom row are my own work.

Ahh can never get enough materials/matcaps definitely big thanks!! If I come across a copy machine with 2 big buttocks impressions smeared on the screen I’ll know why :lol:

Let me clarify, all…I did not use my own anatomy for the matcap! :smiley:

I did a Google search for pictures of women’s faces, but all were wearing makeup or had too much hair showing…so I searched for “bald woman”, “bald man”, etc. I even searched for a picture of an infant, since their skin is flawless. No good pictures to find, but when I searched for “bald head” a different sort of picture showed up. Well, I certainly did not want to make a matcap with a picture of that!!!

So it gave me the idea that breasts are round and perfect…but I didn’t like the lighting on any of those pics. So I typed in “perfect a$$” and got the right pic.

Some very nice looking woman contributed to this fine material. :wink:

this is pretty nice, if i ever model again i’ll use it as a base, for me it needs more pink/red but thats the way i like skin, personal preference etc.
