Re-scaling of UVs issue

Hi guys, this problem is driving me crazy, im sorry if this is a noob question.
I was working on a model and i created some normal and displacement maps through zbrush, when i applied them in max i noticed they were slightly smaller in size. I decided to create an obj just to test the issue. Took it to uvlayout, set my map rez to 2k. Unwrapped it. Took it to zbrush, did a new from uv check on texture tab just to make sure the uvs were matching my uvlayout unwrapping, It was ok. Now since this happened many times i dont know what was causing it, what i do know is what caused it the last time it happened: i divided my mesh, went to noise, applied a surface noise and BAM! it got smaller. I dont know what is happening, this is extremely annoying. Here is a picture of my “new from uv check” before and after the noise maker:

Just to clarify some aspects, when exporting my maps back to max i flipped everything correctly.
On the UV Map tap i had the uv map size on the correct size.
What is going on?

This might pertain to your situation. It’s from the ZBrush4_R6_whats_new.pdf

1. When SmoothUVs is enabled for generating maps, all UV borders will remain frozen when smoothing.

  1. When the Smooth UVs mode (located in Tool >> Geometry) is enabled, the UV smoothing is automatically updated when the subdivision levels are changed. This removes the need to manually re-import a smooth UV version of the model or constantly use the ReUV command.

I dont know, im currently using 4r5 still. I made sure to turn off the “SMT” when subdiving my mesh, i really really believe i did turn it off, seeing i considered that possibility and i went through this process several times. i couldnt find this “smooth uv mode” on my geomtry tab… gonna try to locate it. But the problem ocurred as soon as i used the surface noise, even before generating the maps, thats what im finding quite weird about the situation. Still Thanks for you reply, gonna keep trying

It’s the ‘Suv’ button beside the ‘Divide’ button. However, the freeze border thing is new in 4R6. If you click on the 4R6 thumbnail at the top of the forum page, it’s listed in the new stuff under UV’s Smoothing.
