Re-Importing an alterd mesh??

Hey guys!

Ive got some trouble with my latest model, everything was running smoothly untill I had to create my normal map…well it created. But there was something blocking most of it! It turns out its the two eyes of my character (I hope) as I never unwrapped them in 3dsmax and accidently imported them along with the body mesh… Now my question is : Is there a way to somehow re import an alterd mesh from max WITHOUT the eyes this time but still keep my higher iteration level of 6 with all the details? Or is there any other way on earth I can somehow get rid of the eyes so there not slapped on my normal map blocking everything else? I would be so gratefull for any help at this stage as im all out…I really dont want to lose all that detail I put into him. :frowning:

load the tool in and hide the eyes then in tool:geometry delete hidden

I cant hide the eyes as there incased inside the head, so if I select all the areas to hid first of all, I can get to the very inner rim of the eyeball socket and for sdme reason the whole mesh suddenly appear. The eyes werent actually part of the object in max, they were just linked to the body. Argh, I see no way of fixing this :frowning:

If you have the model already in 3DSMax you could try re-exporting without ‘eyes’ then while you have the ZTL selected in Zbrush, import this new version. It should update to your new version, matching the map you made in 3DSMax. Of course I’m assuming, since you are not 100% sure of what has gone wrong…

Another thing is in 3DSMax, group they eyes differently, then follow my steps above and see if clicking on the model in edit to hide parts of the mesh leave the eyes showing, then you have options, one of which was posted by aminuts. :wink:

Hey Jason, thanks for getting in touch! Well I went the bad way around all this a while ago and just deleted a few faces around the eyes so i could get rid of the eyes themselves…which shouldent be too bad as ill tweak them back in max im hopeing…anyway thanks again!
