Hi,
After turning a model a number of times, I have found that when I use the editing tools to shape with symmetrical enabled in one of the different axis, that they appear out of line, how do you fix this?
Thanks

If you are in Edit mode, and select Rotate, the gyro should come up, enabling you to rotate it into the position you want to work in…Hope that helps Patrick.
I think that what you’re referring to is how one dot is higher than the other?
In truth, they are perfectly aligned across the axis. The problem rises from the fact that your object is not facing you squarely.
If you go Transform>Rotate>Info (with the gyro), you will see the numerical values for X, Y and Z rotation. Whenever I start modeling, the very first thing that I do is change these values to:
x=90
y=0
z=0
Doing this puts the poles at the top and bottom of the object, which puts the center of your modeling at the center of the texture map. It also makes the polygons where you will be doing most of your modeling more uniform. Last but not least, it means that when you start modeling you can more easily visualize the symmetry.
Thanks Aurick,
You have touched on the problem exactly so now I will try your suggestion.

Hmm so that’s how it works?–I used the ‘gyro’ and ended up in Alaska…And I think Christos ate HIS for lunch…Me so confused !!

I need to bring this topic up…
IM very new to zBrush so I hope I can get some help…
I have a model…please see below. I like to work on her head only and like to use Symmetry. When I hide the rest of her body to see the head only and have symmetry on… the dots are not aligned to her head… but to the whole body I assume.
Can someone please tell me how I can adjust symmetry to her head?
