Randomize FiberMesh selection?

Hi folks!!

I wondered about this: Is there a way to mask fibers randomly, with an even 0%…100% distibution?

I tried these approaches:

Polygroups/“Group visible” with a low coverage value (repeatedly)
:small_orange_diamond: this creates random polygroups fast which I can convert to masks by “Polypaint from Polygroups”->“Mask by Hue”. Problem here is that the random masking is assigned per segment of the fiber, not for the whole fiber.

Polygroups/Auto group
:small_orange_diamond: this assigns random groups per fiber (cool) which again I can do “Polypaint from Polygroups”->“Mask by Hue” for to get random masking. This works great but is too slow for like 100.000 hair fibers with 20 segments each. I pressed the button and I’ve been waiting 15 minutes already
(I think I could get away with this when limiting the selection before clicking the button)

:o

Thanks for any tips!
