I read somewhere that Z3 has a hard time with the licensing to work with hardrives set at raid 0. Will I have an issue if I purchase Z3 now for a new pc I just got?
I think officially yes RAID 0 is not supported by Zbrush, but I have had zb3.1 on two separate machines with Raid 0, one on XP 32bit and one on Vista 64bit with no issues.
I think it depends on the quality of the Raid card/drivers…
–E-- is correct. Until 3.5 is released later this month, using ZBrush on a RAID drive is done at your own risk. We cannot promise that you will not be affected by the issue that causes ZBrush to repeatedly de-license itself.
I personally use ZBrush on a computer with RAID 0. But working with customer support I have encountered MANY users who cannot.
If I understood correctly, version 3.5 of Zbrush, has fixed the issue pixologic is having. Also, you said latter this month, should I wait to buy until then, or will I get the upgrade free when it comes out.
