Radialcount Question

I’m trying to use Transform > ® Radialcount and the points aren’t conforming to my object. Instead they seem to be floating in a circle way outside of it. Any reason this is happening while I’m working on the projection of my zsphere topology?

One possibility is that you have the wrong axis of symmetry selected.

Another possibility is that your radial count doesn’t match the point count around the circumference. For example, if you have a cylinder that’s 12 pionts around and you set radial symmetry to 16, only four of the symmetry points will match up with vertices.

A third possibility is that your model’s geometric center is wrong for what you’re trying to do. Symmetry is always calculated relative to the model’s pivot point, which by default is the geometric center of the model. If you’re doing something in a local area you can hide the rest of the model and then press the Transform>S.Pivot button to temporarily set the pivot point to be the center of the visible mesh. Symmetry will then behave relative to the new pivot point. When you’re done you can use C.Pivot to return to the geometric center.
