Radial smooth perpendicular to mesh

Hi all,

I’m trying to smooth a hole that I’ve cut into my mesh. The hole is perpendicular to the mesh, so when I activate radial symmetry its not lining up where I need it. Is there another type of brush that works better in this instance?
Thanks in advance!

You can’t smooth a hole like that using radial symmetry because the hole is not part of the symmetry of the mesh. Also, if the topology doesn’t follow the hole you are unlikely to be able to smooth the hole neatly.

What you can do is to redo the hole using the new Boolean features of 4R8. You won’t need to smooth doing it that way.
