I seem to be getting Zbrush R3 crash when either saving a tool, sellecting one, or clicking of the eye icon for a sub tool. This is the last app crash I had, it was trying to save my work, which iv not lost a hours worth, again!
Window 7 Home 64, 8GB Ram, Intel Q6600. Plenty of HD space. App installed on a Kingston SSD 128gb. ZB is running as Admin.

I was having the troubles you describe with R2. Constant crashing, crashing while saving ect… I worked with Pixologic support and after a lot of troubleshooting they opened a new download and asked that I reinstall the software from the newly downloaded files. It worked. I cannot say why but I got rid of every trace of zbrush, re-downloaded the program and installed, no more problems. If your download link is still active you may want to give it a try. Uninstall zbrush and delete its directory then reinstall. It may not work for you but its worth a try.
Other things I did while attempting to fix the problem was to check my ram, rebuild my system ect…
As far as working in zrbush; I would recommend not closing in on the max amount of polys. If your working close to or at your max amount of polygons I think you risk crashing.

Hello Ben, thanks for your reply. My system has not been changed since v3 came out, plus this is a new install of windows. Maybe its a windows 7 issue?
I did have crashes in v3, but not often, nothing like this, im almost scared to touch any button, as I know this could be more sculpting time down the drain.
It does seem to be sellecting a sub tool, tuning the visability off, or saving a sub tool. As things stand now, I feel like a public beta tester, im not getting much done within my normal workflow.
I think im going to go back to v3.1 to be honnest, as it seems around every corner I hot a new problem.
