R2 is slow using tablet - Answered

Just upgraded to Z4 R2 on my Macbook Pro. It’s an older model, C2D 2.6Ghz 4GB Ram Lion but it’s served me well for Zbrush 4.
Unfortunately, using R2 and using my Intuos 4 tablet, it can’t track the tablet very well. If I move the pen, it will follow but it’s almost as if it’s updating at half a frame a second, so it pops from spot to spot.
Same deal while sculpting.

The rest of the UI is perfectly fine though so I don’t understand what’s going on?
Any help would be great.

Thanks guys!

Hi! Have you tried it with Zbrush 4 again, after you installed R2? It sounds like it could be a graphics card issue, we had sone similar problem at work before with zb4. I am also using an Intuos 4 on a Mac Pro and it works fine with the new R2.

Hi there,
hmm, I went back and checked the old Zbrush 4, and it has the same laggy issues now.
Must have been something in Lion that buggered it up, but it was working fine the other day…
But I’m updating to 10.7.1 to see if that solves the issue.

Thanks!

Lion created lots of problems for tablet users, and in more than just ZBrush.

We have had reports that uninstalling DivX (which is included in Lion) resolved their issues.

Thanks for the reply Aurick. I might just drop down to Snow Leopard if I ever get time.

Would you happen to know how I can uninstall DivX? I can’t seem to find it.

Edit: I disabled MultiDraw in zBrush and that solved the problem…
