QuickSketch blurring.

I have been been using QuickSketch lately and am experiencing a problem. I like to use the move brush on the QuickSketch plane to edit the sketch. This makes the topology of the plane uneven, which affects further sketching. So I try to transfer the QuickSketch from the plane with the uneven topology to a new plane by using texture > GabDoc . I make a fairly large document to get a 3200 x 2400 pixel texture grab which can capture all the details of the sketch which sits on a 18,75,456 polygon plane at subdivision 5 ) . I then press QuickSketch to create a new plane with the same polycount as that of the original plane and fill it with the grabbed texture ( color > fill object , RGB set at 100). The transfer however is not accurate. Some amount of blurring takes place indicating some mismatch between pixels and points. How do I make an exact transfer from the original quick sketch plane to the new plane ? Some help will be greatly appreciated.

i’m guessing this is happening for either two reasons i know of, pixel to pixol canvas ratio, or not enough polys in the new plane.
however if you want a exact copy do this:
clone your quicksketch polyplane, select the plane3d_1 and make it a polymesh3d, divide it 5 times or whatever to equal the amount of your original quicksketch.
then append that as a subtool to your cloned quicksketch, now you will need to move it just a little in the z axis you can do this using the deformation palette. now store a morph target on the polmesh3dplane that is blank, do a projectall, then do morph target switch so it doesn’t have the mesh distortions and just the polypaint info.
alternatively to using projectall you could use the zproject brush.

I think this is just the effect of the Tool>Polypaint>Grd button. Turn that off and you should see the result you are after.

Thanks for your suggestions Spaceboy and Marcus_Civis.

@speceboy, in the tests I have done so far using your technique the transfer is fairly accurate although it isn’t exactly like the original. The transferred polypainting is a little softer and a little blurred. the Project all doesn’t transfer the mesh distortion for some reason. So I just get a polypaint transfer, which is good. The overall transfer quality is better.I will be testing this further.

@Marcus_civis: The Grd button has a dramatic effect on the transfer, yielding sharper results, but the sketch I have here gets a slightly jagged appearance, which makes it look a little low res. I am still testing this and I might combine this with the Projectall technique. Thanks for pointing out the button. something new i got to know.

Thanks once again for the suggestions guys.
