Quick Sketch: How to create straight lines?

HI! I like using QuickSketch for creating concepts. I want to create mechanical concepts with straight geometrical lines and symmetry. Is there a brush or stroke type I could use to get straight lines ( something that can work like the polygon lasso tool in Photoshop).

You can add a lazy stroke to your brush while in quick sketch. Make it “Line” and “Backtrack” with “Snap to Line” and then you will constrain your brush to line strokes. Not exactly like the Poly Lasso in PS, but it gets results.

A more freeform way, is to start your stroke, then hold shift, it will constrain that stroke to a straight line.

Lastly you can make the quicksketch a polymesh 3d with polypaint active, and drop it into projection master and use the Line stroke or Line II stroke, which of course would be nice to have using 3d brushes but alas, has never been made so.

@Extra Dimensional, thanks a lot for sharing the techniques.
I should have explored those new stroke settings. The first technique may work.

with the second method holding shift down constrains the strokes at fixed angles. the angles can be a little limiting

PM is a good idea too, except I’ll probably have to mirror the mesh to create a symmetrical concept after getting out of PM. I just wish the straight line tool worked outside PM.

thanks again for suggesting these techniques.
