Quick-select subtool?

I may be missing something obvious but is there a way to ‘quick-select’ a subtool by clicking on part of the model, rather than clicking in the subtool palette?
In the same way that cmd+click selects layers in Photoshop.
Thanks

(I’m using 3.12 osx)

Option-click on a SubTool in the viewport.

Thanks aurick, I was looking for a way to do that for a while, I can’t believe I didn’t try the alt key!

ctrl shift click on the subtool you want in the canvas and it it will switch to particular subtool on your mesh rather then trying to keep on going back to the subtool palette to select the mesh that you want to work on…

Any way to turn this off?

Trying to hide polygroups within a subtool kind of conflicts with this sometimes. As when you ctrl+shift click to isolate a polygroup it will sometimes snap to a different subtool. very fustrating. :stuck_out_tongue:

my new favorite trick! thanks Aurick!
