Quick Question about skin texturing

Is there a different way to texture skin that looks authentic without using a brush and alpha and basically painting it on there? I tested on a model and it looked really good, but it was puffing my model out a little because I was adding it on with a brush.

just turn Zadd off on the interface and have rgb on.

Oh I didn’t mean polypainting skin, I mean like actual bump skin, something that will show up on a normal map.
