Quick Imageplane help question

My ref images are 1080p. I bring them in with imageplane. They come in resized to fit the background. Easy fix. I click on “crop and fill” and the image is displayed at the full rez in the proper pixel aspect ratio. But it causes another hot mess.

My model now displays itself halfway through/into the imageplane.

I want to keep the crop and fill resized image as is. I like using high def images, but I need a solutions so my model stops halfwaying itself into the imageplane. Hope this make sense.

Is there a way to push the imageplane forward or backwards? That way I can push it back futher behind my model to stop this?

Wish it was a simple as applying an image as a texture file onto a plane and using the transpose tool to set that plane up far enough in the background- Only that wont work because that plane will rotate with the model when you try to rotate the model to match the position of the refimage on the plane. Kinda makes you wonder how the image plane stays put when you use it.

Hey there,

with your active model on the canvas, click on edit (to make it inactive) click on move (next to the draw icon). The 2.5D Gizmo appears. Click away from the gizmo on the canvas. Move your cursor up and down. That way you can change the Z Position of your model. Once you’re done, re-enter edit mode and you should be a happy sculptor again.

Hope that helps

Hahaha, that did it. Thank you so much.
