Quick Dynamesh questions

Hello,
I love Dynamesh, I’ve been exploring it for a while and I’ve got couple questions;

  • when sculpting fine details on a dynamesh mesh… for example; making fine eye lids or polished surfaces and fine hard edges, and then getting to the point where I wanna add more polys needed to work on other parts of the mesh (Ctrl+Drag). I lose a lot of the detail I’ve already sculpted and the whole mesh changes topology. its very cool but now my question is;

  • should you not work on fine details on a dynamesh? just a general rough concept ?
    -wouldn’t it be great if we could ‘protect’ some areas of the model that you dont want them retopologized when you add more polys with dynamesh? is there any workaround this?

and another question;
what doses "freeze subdivision levels? really do? and how to utilize it?

Thanks in advance :slight_smile:

Use the resolution slider below the Dynamesh button to set how dense the dynamesh is, whis determines how fine you can make the details. At it’s highest setting, 1024, you should be able to get most sculptural details in.
