Questions & Troubleshooting for ZBrush 4R6 - read first post for P2 Patch instruction

Have you uninstalled 4R4 or 4R3 since installing 4R6? Uninstalling either of those will remove the C:/Users/public/Pixologic/ folder (or on Mac, the \Users\Shared\Pixologic folder). In that case it will need to be replaced.

In that case, see here: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?125810-GoZ-Update-1-with-Photoshop-Support&p=1030108&viewfull=1#post1030108

If you haven’t uninstalled an earlier version and the Pixologic folder is there then something got messed up in your permissions for the Pixologic folder and/or its contents. In that case you won’t need to copy the Pixologic folder over to replace it but you will need to adjust the permissions as mentioned in that post.

GOZ won’t work on either 4.r5 or 4r6.

FILE WRITE ERROR
Sorry, the disk space is full.

I have plenty of space, i have full read/writer permissions.
thanks,
david

Thanks Aurick, this fixed my issues. Initially I had tried the stand alone installer, when it didnt work I did uninstall some of my older ZB installs.

That message under those conditions means that you don’t have full read/write permission somewhere. It could be that the permission is Read & Write for the Pixologic folder but not the subfolders. (I’m talking about the public/shared Pixologic folder, by the way. Not the one in your Program Files/Applications directory that contains ZBrush itself.)

Please see my post above concerning GoZ.

Take a look at post #47 for the file path you need to check. Make sure to do the part with the cog wheel where you apply to all subfolders.

For some reason sometimes the permissions on the root folder don’t propagate to the subfolders.

jclepev,

All the displacement maps should show the same UV smoothing. It would be useful to have the model to test, if that is possible. I will PM you.

Thanks,

thanks! That was the problem, i needed to set the read write permissions for the zbrush floders down the file hiearchy in the shared folders. thanks again, I was in panic mode!
David

Thanks, it was lack of propagation!

This was my issue as well. I spent all morning banging my head against the keyboard trying all different combinations of hiding/splitting/dynameshing until I ran across your post and video. It works great except for the merging of tools now. Hopefully a patch is in the works.

Thanks again.

Hey, guys.

Got mine up and running fine on a Mac.
And it’s awesome.
Projection Master never worked for me in R5, but does in this one.

Except… The Double Sided feature in it.
Only sculpts on one side no matter what.

Anybody else got this?

Also, I was unaware of the Unified skin (resolution) change.
Going through Legrain’s tutorial there seems to be certain changes.
(Lowest resolution now being 16 instead of 8, and 32 the lowest in order to generate the mesh he uses for it.)

Turn on ‘Double’ in ‘Tool > Display Properties’ before you go into Projection Master.

Great! Thank you.

For users who accidentally uninstalled GoZ by removing an earlier version of ZBrush, we have created new installers that will restore it without the need to fully reinstall ZBrush 4R6. You can download them here.

Worked like a charm! Thanks for figuring this out.

P2 Patch was found today.
What are the details of updating?

error.jpg

I downloaded the full installer (twice) and tried to install. I disabled my antivirus software, deactivated and uninstalled ZB4R5. I deleted all previous ZB folders. I also tried to run the *exe as administrator, but I keep getting the same error message in Win 7 Pro. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Please submit a Support ticket for that. Be sure to include your system info, including which version of Windows you’re running. Also, does your computer have a C drive?

I was just getting ready to announce release of the patch.

This patch fixes things that were found in GoZ, ZRemesher, Decimation Master and UV Master. I believe that there are a few other minor items here and there as well. I’m afraid I don’t have a complete change log that I can provide.

This patch is recommended for both Windows and Mac.

It can be installed by launching ZBrush and going to Zplugin >> Auto Update >> Check new updates. Alternatively, browse to your ZBrush 4R6 folder and run the ZUpgrader application.

You do not have to have 4R6 P1 to be able to install the P2 patch. The P2 patch also includes the changes that were in the P1 patch.

For anyone who might not have upgraded to 4R6 yet, the upgrade will now automatically deliver the version with the P2 patch already applied.

Glad it worked!

Modo actually figured it out  I went to try and GoZ from Modo and it said that it couldn’t write to the file path. I went to the path it specified and noticed the items weren’t set to read/write.

Hello all,

I’m running into a problem in transpose master when I tpose->SubT it switches to the default star and says there is a mismatch.

Also, I noticed that when I hit the “TPoseMesh” button for my model, it cycles through all the subtools and for some reason it switches the model to a star then to the regular combined subtools.

Is anyone else getting this?
