Questions and doubts about the subtools

Hi.
So I have used two spheres subtools as eyes, and I have a couple of questions:

First, is there a way of mirror two subtools, in order to make simmetrically positioned eyes, instead of trying to position the eyes by hand?

And second, I have merged the subtools with the main mesh, the back of the spheres is still there, behind the visible mesh, or it disspaear when merging?

What I find works fairly well is to make and position one eye, duplicate it, then in the Deformation pallette, mirror it.

You can duplicate and use the mirror deform like suggested, or use subtool master which has a few options for mirroring.

And second, I have merged the subtools with the main mesh, the back of the spheres is still there, behind the visible mesh, or it disspaear when merging?

They’re still there. If you wanted you could use the Auto Polygroup feature to turn each polygon island into its own polygroup. Since the eyes aren’t connected to anything they’d be given their own group, which you can then use to isolate the visability of in order to see it fully.

So, if you have those extra polygons hidden within the model, it will affect when you bake the high poly model into the low poly model?
