Questions about Transpose

Hello everybody!
I’m new to the forum and as Zbrush user, and I hope someone more advanced like me can help me.
Thanks!
I have a lot of questions as I do not know which to start.
So.
I started to sculpt a motorcycle main frame.
I had trouble from the beginning.
In particular with , Zoom, subtraction, Slice…
I watched many tutorials and step by step I began to understand some basic things.
Now I can’t center two objects.
I have 2 Cylinder.
One with some diameter and another one with another diameter. “approximately” Zbrush don’t heve settings for This.
I want to move one of the cylinder in center of the other cylinder.
How can I do this?

Thanks!

Can be tricky. I would duplicate the one and scale it, perhaps in a new scene and import it. You can use transpose, there are values and sliders for that, the Gyro has to be showing. In the deformation pallette are scale and offset. Hope that helps. Unify will center and scale which may not be what you’re after.

Thanks for Your reply.
For the cylinders of the right side I used the first metod mentioned by you. Duplicate and scale. Although I wanted the two of them have the same diameter.
If I use scale I don’t know if the diameter is identical.
Now I wish the middle where suspension comes, to have the same Hole diameter.
I do not know how to use transpose to position “snap” two subtools.
Do you mean The value on deformation ***8203;***8203;tab? those values ***8203;***8203;are relative…every time jumps to 0
For Gyro it seems that I must be in paint mode…I will try Gyro now.
Usualy I use 3ds max
And with goz this can by done quickly But I use dynamesh with res=2048 for a good result and 3ds Max Consume my all RAM “4G”
For the moment it’s hard to keep them both open.
I was hoping I could do this directly in Zbrush
Thanks a lot for your answer
!A few minutes ago, by accident, I discovered how to set zoom on mouse wheel…

Gyro was useless for my purpose.
I figured out How to do that.
It is useful if you work with the same shape
For different shapes “snap” is needed
So.
In: Menu / Preference /Transpose Units , Set Units to cm, Unit scale to 100, minor Tiks to 10 and Major tiks to 1. !Calibrate if needed
Now with trasnpoze line can masure the subtools.
With Subtool selected, make a duplicate, Then in Tool/ Geometry/ Size, Set the value for the duplicated subtool.
!value of 1 is equivalent with 1 meter.
Now can substract with precision.
Issues:

  1. The graduation of Transpoze line used for measurements is rather small. And since you can set the size of the circles Why can’t be set the dimension for measuring lines
  2. If I set the uinits scale to 1000 and Set Units to mm the graduation line disapear.
  3. In perspective mod I can’t snap the end of the TransPose line.

In case it ever hit someone of the same problems That’s the trick.
!!It would have been better if the Clik + Alt + Drag it was be able to snap a subtool to another subtool if a botton caled snap is presed… Maybe someone can implements this in the next update…
