What other softwares do you use in conjuntion with Zbrush?
At the moment I only have Photoshop.
Does anybody use Vray or Mentalray for rendering? Can I get the same near quality rendering in Zbrush anywhere close to Vray or Mental ray?
modo, 3dsmax, maya, xsi, c4d, blender, etc. All of those can be use in with Zbrush. The software package that one uses is based on personal preference.
You can get similar renders that MR or Vray can produce in Zbrush. But Zbrush is a lot more post production work.
WHat do you mean more post production work? Will it be much harder to render in Zbrush to match that of Vray or MentalRay?
If i’m not interested in any sort of animation, just making still images, would it be unnecessary to buy Vray or MentalRay since they’re both used for rendering in film production right?

Vray and MentalRay are both powerful rendering engines. Mental ray is included in 3dStudio Max, Maya, Xsi, and maybe others… vray is something you must buy.
