Question to video texturing

Hey - found this video on Youtube. While I’m aware of the various techniques with 3d planes and projection master etc. I can’t figure out what’s going on when he textures eyes and ears. Video is speeded up but it seems he adds 3d planes with images and a soft falloff directly onto the model in 3ds space in viewport? Any who can elaborate what’s going on?

Thanks

Its the same technique, you can go in edit mode after you draw the plane while in projection master is still on, then you can use the move too [or brush don’t remember] to deform the plane and its texture before picking it up.

Hope that helps

Yes that’s what I do now - it just seemed like he did’nt use PM but did the same thing directly onto the 3d model in the viewport. That would be interesting

Thanks for reply :+1:

Hmm, that looked like PM to me, he didnt rotate the model until he finished deforming the texture. I think its the ZBrush recorder that doesnt record the PM window.

Yes I think you’re right - o wel back to PM

If it bothers you so much, check out BodyPaint. Not sure if it can do the same as the PM technique, I only use it to fix seams, but it it has a sort of dynamic PM mode that activates when the mouse is clicked and creates a new projection plane every time you rotate the model till you apply the projection(s)

I’ll look into it for sure. Lots of opportunities these days. It does’nt bother me that much with PM to be honest but maybe this guy had some new technique going on that I had missed out on - you never know
