Question: Texture and create displacement at the same time?

Hi All,

Thanks for taking your time.

I have to create longisch rockwall, to be able to work fast and efficient i am looking for a possablity like this:

Is it possible to paint a photo texture on a model while the zBrush uses the lumosity information in that pic to create displacement at the same time?
I have researched projection master for this. While it does have the ablitity to create displacement and textures i havent yet found a brush or similar which would do this at the same time?

Does someone have a suggestion or a pointer if this is possible?

Thanks!

Luminosity data in a picture? Could you maybe give more info about what you’re doing, and maybe a screen shot or two?

Also, you don’t necessarily need to use Projection Master. The sculpting brushes (in the Brush palette) are very powerful and work in real-time. They can use both texture and alpha. Simply disable/delete UV’s for your brush to be able to use texture.

Hi Aurick,

Thanks for replying. After i just watched the upcoming features “spotlight” and “lightbox” provide exactly the functionality which i would need for this project.

As you mentioned it is possible to sculpt and texture at the same time, but in this case it would require the creation of a lot of brushes which isnt possible.

Bummer, because i would have loved to used zbrush, the smoothness of this app is just amazing.

Thanks!
