[Question] How can I sketch the High Detail Characers by using Dynamesh ?

Hi everybody. :+1:

I’m still new with the Zbrush and now I wonder how others Artist can sketch the High Detail Characters just using the Dynamesh.

As I know that when we use Dynamesh feature to sketch, the parts of character must the same object so that i can use " Ctrl+ Drag " to generate a new Mesh and continue to sculpt.

But the Biggest problem come to me that’s i cant keep the High Detail ( after subdivide a couple times ) on the important parts like on the " Head/Face " - " Hands " - " Feet " and more… After " Ctrl+ Drag " again the detail that i try to make will lost ( like skin pores, winkles )

=> Somehow others Artist still can use Dynamesh and Keep the Highest Detail without Any problems on each parts.

P/s: Can you everybody guide me the way to do something like that. Thanks so much
and sorry for my bad English.

You can:

  1. Increase the resolution slider in the dynamesh menu

  2. Increase the size of the mesh in the zbrush worldspace, which will result in more resolution being given to it.

However, Dynamesh has a practical upper limit that varies by system, and works best at medium to medium-high polycounts. At a certain point you will no longer be able to capture especially fine detail, or it will take your system so long to do it that it is no longer practical.

At some point, it would be better to switch to a more traditional multi-subdivision level workflow for fine detail. Use dynamesh to establish mid-level form, retopologize the object, either manually or with ZRemesher, subdivide the object, then project the detail from the original onto it if necessary. Then proceed to work on fine detail.
