I am trying to precisely apply photographic alpha masks to a surface so they can be located to a specific spot. In some cases I would like to perfectly align the masks to features on a surface, in others I would like to exactly superimpose one mask over another. How can this be done? Can a mask be traced like a magic wand in Photoshop so specific areas can be perfectly traced? Thanks Hi Mike,
You can use Zapplink to use photoshops tools for generating stencils, etc for the task you want to achieve.
Thanks very much…I will check this out and give you an update.
BTW, do you know how to get rid of spikes? These anomalies appear after stretching/elongating surfaces excessively or with masks. I have tried smoothing, but this is not always successful.
I’m not sure if this should be another thread. Not sure of protocol.
Mike
Adding another thread with a proper title might get you better results, but I’m not sure what you’re talking about as spikes. Can you post up an image?
When I run Zapplink and reference Photoshop.exe, the linking window seems to hang and if I click on the window it disappears. After this procedure, if zapplink is initated, I receive the 3842 error.
Tried this on two installations of Zbrush as got same error message. For some reason the link cannot be made.
Any ideas for this error?
There was an update, did you get it?
I’m afraid not. The Zapplink download is for 4R2 vs. 4R5. Should I download and install version 4R2 or is there another download?
There’s another one, search for it here on the forums.
Doug, you are a big help!!! Thanks a million. Yes it works!
Many thanks
Mike
