I’m going to be doing body image research at the local university, I will have access to a DSLR camera array scanner. The end result I want to achieve is to give participants an avatar in VR that looks as much like them as I can and allow them to adjust ‘their’ weight.
Currently, the plan is to make a character creation tool in Unreal that is aimed much more at realism than a game and use that to try and match the participants’ body shape. It would be very helpful if I could take a 3D scan of the participant and use that to create the default shape and existing shapes from them to morph between without having to manually sculpt each new scan.
