Question about trying to get a sharp extraction using masks.

I dont know if Im posting this in the right section or not so please forgive me.

Ive just recently returned to ZBrush after not having used it for four years. The last version I used was 3.1 and I decided to demo 4R4.

Anyway to the point. Today Im attempting to refresh my skills by making some simple objects. Im just extracting a shape from a plane and using the “Drag Rec” stroke with the Alpha 28. Ive noticed that whenever I extract from the mask the new object has edges more rounded then the mask. Ive attempted to “sharpen” the mask and even decrease the E smt and S smt but they had no overall effect.

Im sure its something small Im missing here, anyone have any ideas?

lowering E and S to 0 should give you an exact match of what your mask is.

Post up some images of your interface and the results you are getting if this still isn’t what you’re looking for so we can get a better understanding of what it is you want to achieve vs what you are getting.

Thank you, that in combination with upping my subdivisions more and setting the E and S to 0 as well as sharpening the mask worked.

I was hoping I wouldnt have to crank my poly levels up so high but Im thinking its a setting somewhere else because Ive been getting choppy edges even with millions of polys.

An issue Ill have to look into.
