question about purchasing zbrush 3.5

Hey all,

I’m looking to purchase ZBrush 3.5. I’m looking to pick up an academic copy and usually purchase my software through journeyed. They list their latest version as ZBbrush 3.5 and I’m aware that there is a third release of this version, ZBrush 3.5r3. I guess I’m wondering if I have to purchase ZBrush 3.5r3 or is it a free software update I can upgrade to with purchasing ZBrush 3.5? Thanks.

As to date, all Zbrush versions are a full free upgrade after you purchase a license. We are all lucky that Pixologic dose not charge us for additional upgrades! :sunglasses:

THANKS PIX!  :+1:

I have read that zbrush 4 will be the last free upgrade.

I would love to see where that is sited from. never heard this before…

I wouldn’t go spreading this crap around. The only mention i can find of this is some dim witted post on other forums. Those posts are not be Pix reps and are only fear and conjecture concerning the state of the economy. To assume Pix is making no money simply because they do not charge for their updates is stupid and short sighted. Their business model is working fine. Those that don’t run a software company should keep their concerns to themselves.

If you love Zbrush, Great. Keep using it. Don’t go lighting Fires in the Zbrush community that will burn out of control. The Mac group is already in flames over no 3.5 for them yet. Lets not further piss them off by spouting last free upgrade… Umm Kay?

How about you relax and pull your panties out! I’m not spreading anything, I read it in a topic here at zbrushcentral and have read it a few other places as well( doesn’t make it true ). Just passing along a “possibility”. No reason to jump on me as if I implied it was true and FYI if it was to be true I doubt pix would say anything until the actual release, as seems to be how all companies do it. If the possibility scares you, tough! Thats no reason to go insecurely raging.

It wont happen.

For the last time…I am not saying that %100 it will. I was just passing along what I have been reading.
